Independent Art Project Proposal

Students will:
The goal of this project is for you to develop an intentional artistic work ethic, while fostering confidence, responsibility, experimentation, and originality. Additionally you will be challenged to develop your skills and techniques by pushing the boundaries of your artistic comfort zones and creating a work of art that could potentially be chosen for the art show at the end of the year.
THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL BE GRADED UPON COMPLETION.
This should not be rushed because this will count as a summative project grade.
All projects must have a solid foundation in one of the three criteria
You may choose any of the following supplies to use to create this project. If there is a material that you would like to use that you are not completely comfortable with, I will work with you to show you the best ways to use the material.

Once you have decided on your project, you must write a 2 to 3 paragraph proposal that is teacher approved. Make sure to include the topic of your artwork, the type of project you will create, and what materials you will be using.
On Mondays you will need to submit weekly progress goals in to a group discussion board. (100% of outlines done, finish the torso, complete construction of ____)
If you do not execute your time appropriately to complete this summative project it will need to be completed outside of class.

- Choose a challenging subject and media to create an independent project.
- Use art class time wisely by working on it during all time in class.
- Employ knowledge of good craftsmanship with neatness and care of storage.
- Develop significant skill and technique with the chosen media.
- Employ prior knowledge of composition and the role played by the elements and principles of art in the creation of a successful work of art.
