OPTION 1 - Perspectives
- Choose an interesting object - Shoe, Key, backpack etc.
- Divide your page into six, 3" x 3" squares (paper should be no smaller than 8in x 11in)
- In each square, draw a different section of a the object. You may use multiples of the same type of object (keys, Shoes, etc)
- Work from observation.
- Use graphite/pencil.
- Each square should be focus on a different angle or specific area of your object(s)
- "zoom in" to fill the whole square with your object see key example
- Shade in each square (using a full range of value) in such a way that you create contrast between the squares (See examples).
OPTION 2 - MORPH
- Choose 2 things that have a similarish overall shape
- Over a minimum of 5 stages morph one shape into the other.
- paper should be no smaller than 8in x 11in - drawing needs to take up 60% - 70% of the page
- MUST USE REFERENCES.
- Use graphite/pencil.
- Shade in each stage using a full range of value (See examples)
OPTION 3 - SOOOOO TIRED
- Choose Either your pillow or a bedsheet as your subject
- paper should be no smaller than 8in x 11in - drawing needs to take up 80% - 90% of the page
- Using ideally a single light source (phone light, lamp, flashlight etc) try to create "dramatic" lighting on your object. (strong shadows)
- Ideally you would be able to leave the pillow or sheet in one place for a very long period of time so you could draw it or just tak a picture
- Use graphite/pencil.
- Shade in each stage using a full range of value (See examples)
- using a full range of value create strong contrast strong between the dark and light areas of the fabric (See examples).
